Emergency Comms Press

Independent Publishing. Bold Stories. Uncompromised Vision.

Emergency Comms Press (ECP) is an independent publishing company founded by award-winning author J.M. Erickson. We publish science fiction, dystopian fiction, psychological thrillers, and nonfiction that explore the intersection of technology, power, psychology, and the future of humanity.

Our Story

J.M. Erickson's publishing career began in 2012 with the release of Albatross: Book One through iUniverse, followed by Raven and Eagle through Outskirts Press. Additional works, including the first editions of the Future Prometheus and Intelligent Design series, were published through various publishing partners between 2012 and 2014.

By late 2014, Erickson began publishing independently. The decision was simple: gain complete control over the publishing process. From cover design and interior formatting to distribution, metadata, and production quality, independent publishing offered the ability to create books exactly as envisioned.

As publishing technology evolved, so did the possibilities. Advances in design tools, print-on-demand manufacturing, digital distribution, and artificial intelligence made it possible for a small independent publisher to operate at a professional level. Emergency Comms Press was created from that evolution.

Our Mission

Emergency Comms Press publishes books that ask difficult questions and explore complex ideas. We focus on stories and nonfiction that examine:

  • Human nature
  • Psychology and trauma
  • Social systems and inequality
  • Technology and artificial intelligence
  • Power, governance, and ethics
  • Philosophy and identity
  • The future of human civilization

Our goal is simple: create books that entertain, challenge, and stay with readers long after the final page.

As humanity prepares to expand to Mars, political ambition, social inequality, and technological control collide across four interconnected novels.

Cassandra IX

Willard Bennett

A former military officer caught between duty and conscience.

David M. Strong

Whose life is transformed by technology, trauma, and opportunity.

Robert Lee

An ambitious officer pursuing command and legacy.

Looking Forward

Emergency Comms Press was built on the belief that independent publishing can produce books that are every bit as ambitious, professional, and impactful as those from traditional publishers. As new technologies continue to reshape publishing, our commitment remains the same: create thoughtful books, tell compelling stories, and give readers worlds worth exploring.

Independent publishing for readers who enjoy bold ideas, complex characters, and unforgettable futures.
